I recently remembered that back in 2004, Toho was discussing a new Godzilla movie to be released in the next 9 or 10 years. I decided to combine this with the ideas for Legendary Pictures Godzilla film.

I decided to make the project more of a home-grown Japanese style thing, having it be produced by Toho and the effects done by Iron Head studios, the guys behind HellBoy and Pan's Labyrinth. It would be directed by Shusuke Kaneko and of course...Guillermo Del Toro. They would right the story along with Ted Elliot and Terry Rossio. The film's budget would be about 130 million, with the monsters being portrayed through high tech suits and model scanning.

A high quality model of each monster would be made and scanned onto a computer, Jurassic Park style, then controlled through high tech suits


These suits would basically be green suits, albeit in the shape of the kaiju they portray. They would make the best use of digital reference technology, motion capture, and even high tech animatronics and prosthetic. WETA style miniatures would also be used, with plenty of both CGI and practical effects to boot.

The story would take place in 1964, 10 years after the first Godzilla attack. A meteor would hit a new nuclear powered satellite and cause it to crash into the ocean, awakening Godzilla. At the same time, the meteor is revealed to be a biomass absorbing orb. The two eventually fight to a draw at Mt. Fuji. They engage again in Tokyo, the orb maturing into KING GHIDORAH. A massive final battle then ensues.
